For the eighth consecutive year, Marine Bank has provided a scholarship to a  future leader through Leadership Indian River County’s Minority Scholarship Program.  The 2020 recipient is Anna Rogers, a fifth-grade teacher at Gifford Youth Achievement Center. As a teacher, Anna plays an integral role in the school’s mission to offer quality programs for children that will develop self-esteem, teach character, and encourage each student to reach his or her potential.

“Marine Bank is especially grateful for the opportunity to reward a teacher for her own work with our young future leaders,” said Bill Penney, President and CEO of Marine Bank & Trust. “I trust that Anna’s experience with Leadership Indian River County will enable her to do an even greater job in motivating her students to be successful contributors to our community. I’m certain that this investment from the Bank will have a lasting impact on a new generation of leaders who will contribute to the future growth and prosperity of our economy.”

Leadership Indian River County is a community leadership program that includes a seven-session training program providing a hands-on, multi-disciplinary study of Indian River County’s current infrastructure, resources and issues in order to expose potential leaders to the challenges and opportunities of the area.
