Marine Bank & Trust Company recognizes that our customers and others visiting our Internet sites have an expectation of privacy in their dealings with us. Because of our interest in protecting your privacy, we continue to examine our privacy practices. As a result, we have adopted the following privacy principles, continuing our commitment to provide top quality service to you, our valued customer:
We recognize that you expect privacy and security for your personal and financial affairs. We understand the need to safeguard our sensitive information about you that you have entrusted to us. We maintain standards and procedures designed to prevent misuse of this information.
We collect, retain, and use information about you only where we reasonably believe that it will help administer our business or provide products, services, and other opportunities to you. Personal information is collected from you at the time transactions are conducted through the online banking service and at the time information is provided by you via e-mail (including the name, e-mail address, and any other information on the e-mail header). We use the information for the purpose of processing your transactions; to meet your banking needs and requests; to protect and administer your records, accounts, and funds; to comply with certain laws and regulations; to help us design or improve our products and services; and to understand your financial needs and provide you with quality products and superior service. If you have enrolled in our bill payment service certain personal information is also collected and used to accomplish the payment of your bills. This information, but only to the extent necessary to pay the bill, will be shared with the vendor or provider of the service to whom payment is made.
We have procedures to help assure that your financial information is accurate, current, and complete in accordance with commercial standards. You may review the information we collect about you and correct any errors in that information by reviewing your account statements and correspondence from us then notifying us of any inaccurate or outdated information at the address or phone number on your statements. We have procedures in place to respond to your requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. While federal or state law requires some of these procedures, we have implemented additional procedures to maintain accurate, current, and complete financial information, including processes to update information and remove old information.
We have procedures and security levels that limit employee access to personally identifiable information to those employees with a business reason to know such information about you. We educate our employees about the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy through standard operating procedures, special training programs, and the Financial Institution Code of Ethics. We take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.
We maintain security standards and procedures to help prevent unauthorized access to confidential information about you. We update and test our technology to improve the protection of our information about you and to assure the integrity of our information. Additionally, information you submit via our online banking service is protected by encryption technology which scrambles account information to reduce the possibility of access by unauthorized individuals outside The Marine. To further protect your online banking service, Marine Bank & Trust Company requires the use of an ID and password. If you have any questions about your personal information or would like to inform us about the potential misuse of your personal information, you may do so by sending a letter to the Compliance Officer, Marine Bank & Trust Company, 571 Beachland Blvd, Vero Beach, FL 32963, or sending a facsimile to the Compliance Officer at (772) 234-2700, or by calling us at (772) 231-6611, or by sending us an e-mail at email@marinebankandtrust.com. Remember, e-mail transmissions may be subject to interception, so please do not include sensitive information in your email correspondence.
We do not reveal specific information about your accounts or other personally identifiable data to parties outside our organization for their independent use unless: (1) you request or authorize it; (2) the information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you; (3) the information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency; or (4) the disclosure otherwise is lawfully permitted or required. We will not disclose information provided by you, such as an address, e-mail, telephone and fax numbers, customer identification or transaction information, to anyone outside of Marine Bank & Trust Company except as noted in item 2 above for our on-line bill payment service, without your written consent.
Sometimes it is necessary to provide personally identifiable information about you to a third party, such as to a vendor or service company that we hire to prepare your account statements or to provide support or services for one or more of our products. These vendors and service companies agree to safeguard our confidential information about you and your products and services with us and must abide by applicable law.
