You may place a security alert on your credit bureau file.  This alert will flag your file for additional scrutiny at all credit reporting agencies.  This service, which is free of charge, provides a significant layer of protection but you must contact the credit bureaus directly to request this alert.  By law, we cannot make this request on your behalf.  If you choose to put a security alert on your file with one agency, that agency will notify the other agencies; however, the notification is timelier if you contact all three agencies.  You may place or remove the security alert at any time by calling one of the following agencies:

P.O. Box 9556
Allen, TX  75013
(888) 397-3742
Equifax Credit Information Services, Inc.

EMV Debit Cards

EMV, or EuroPay MasterCard Visa, is the growing global standard for debit/credit card processing.  EMV cards use a microchip implanted on the card to further reduce the possibility of fraud.  As EMV cards become more common in the U.S., please keep in mind the following:

  • Regardless of whether your debit card has a magnetic strip only or strip+EMV chip, you already have zero liability for fraudulent transactions
  • When traveling internationally, always take at least two forms of payment, preferably debit & credit options.
  • Through our relationship with TravelEx, you may purchase an EMV capable My Travel Wallet debit card and preload it with multiple foreign currencies.
  • Marine Bank anticipates issuing EMV cards beginning in 2016.

Foreign Currency

Marine Bank has partnered with Travelex to provide you with an easy way to order foreign currency for your travels abroad.  Click here to link to the Travelex website and purchase an EMV capable travel card.

Frequently Asked Questions on My Travel Wallet:

Q. What is My Travel Wallet?
A. As a Marine Bank customer, you can purchase foreign currency online before you travel.  By using Travelex's My Travel Wallet, you can order more than 70 currencies, each at a competitive exchange rate with no service fee to order.

Q.  Why should I use My Travel Wallet?
A. My Travel Wallet gives you the convenience of ordering foreign currency or a foreign currency prepaid card and having it delivered to your home address before you travel.  This eliminates the hassle of waiting in line at an airport currency exchange which often offers less competitive exchange rates than Travelex.

Q. What are my options for ordering foreign currency?
A.  You can choose between two convenient options: 1) Foreign currency delivery to your home, or 2) Multi-Currency Cash Passport™ Prepaid MasterCard® sent to your home.  With the Multi-Currency Cash Passport™ Prepaid MasterCard®, you can load up to five currencies on just one card.

Q. Is there a minimum amount I must order?
A. The minimum online order is $250.  However, Marine Bank can accommodate orders of any size in its branches.  Please allow two business days when ordering foreign currency from the bank.

Q. How do I sign up for My Travel Wallet?
A.  To sign up, go to Travelex.com and follow the simple step-by-step ordering process.  You may pay for your order using either a debit or credit card.  We recommend using your debit card as it will not be subject to cash advance fees.  Be sure to check and see if you have a maximum order limit per day on your card before placing your order.

Q.  How do I get the currency?
A. Foreign currency is provided by Travelex and shipped directly to your home.  Acceptance of the delivery requires a signature.  You can also reload your Cash Passport at any time online.

Q. Is there a cost for My Travel Wallet?
A.  The only service charge for the service is delivery.  Select either $12 for next day or $10 for a weekday.  The exchange rates are the same regardless of whether you order foreign cash or a foreign card.  We will even waive the delivery fee when you exchange more than $1,000.

Q.  If I don't sign up for My Travel Wallet, are there other options to get foreign currency?
A. If you would prefer, you cancome in to a Marine Bank location and order foreign currency.  However, the Multi-Currency Cash Passport™ Prepaid MasterCard® is only available through My Travel Wallet.

Q. Why not just use my credit card when traveling?
A. In the U.S., most credit cards still use magnetic stripe technology (this is the black stripe you see on the back of any credit or debit card).  Due to other countries preferring the more secure Chip and PIN technology, international travelers have reported acceptance issues when using their current credit and debit cards. Further, your personal information is not on the Cash Passport™, thereby reducing the risk of identity theft if your card is lost or stolen.

Q.  What currencies can I load on my Cash Passport Card?
A. Currently, you’re able to load Euros, British Pounds, Mexican Pesos, Japanese Yen, Vietnamese Dong, Brazilian Real, Chinese Yuan Renminbi, Australian and Canadian Dollars. My Travel Wallet will be adding even more currencies in the near future.

Q. How do I replace a lost or stolen card?
A.  If your card is lost or stolen, contact Cash Passport Customer Services immediately at 877-856-2471 so they can cancel the lost or stolen card and provide you with a free replacement card. Rest assured that your balance is PIN protected and you can still access those funds with your replacement card.

Q.  What if I have funds left on my card when my trip is over?
A. If your trip is over and you don’t plan on taking another one any time soon, you can cash-out your card to get the remaining balance returned to you. There are a few different ways to withdraw your remaining balance (fees may apply):
Use an ATM that accepts Debit MasterCard (assuming it’s within the ATM’s issuing limits)
Call the number on the back of your card (877-856-2471) and speak to a representative.

Q. How can I get the balance left on my card?
A. You can go online or call the number on the back of your card for balance inquiries to ensure you receive the most accurate and up-to-date information.
